মাওলানা শাহ্ আহমদ শফী বাংলাদেশের কওমী মাদ্রাসাকেন্দ্রিক জগতে নানান কারণেই আলোচিত ও শ্রদ্ধেয় ব্যক্তিত্বের ভূমিকায় নিজেকে তুলে ধরেছিলেন। দেশের অন্যতম প্রাচীন ও বৃহত্তম মাদ্রাসার তিনি প্রধানতম ব্যক্তি। কওমী মাদ্রাসাকেন্দ্রিক বহু প্রতিষ্ঠান ও ব্যক্তি যখন ক্ষমতার লোভ, দুর্নীতি এবং রাজনৈতিক শক্তির লাঠিয়ালে পরিণত হয়ে অন্তর্কলহ, পারস্পরিক অবিশ্বাস এবং ক্ষমতার বাটোয়ারায় লিপ্ততার কারণে নিজেদের মাঝেই গ্রহণযোগ্যতা হারিয়ে ফেলেছিলো, তখন মাওলানা শফীকে পক্ষ ও দল নির্বিশেষে ওই জগতের প্রায় সকলেই এসবের উর্ধে দেখতে পছন্দ করতেন। দেশের আর একটি পুরাতন ও শীর্ষস্থানীয় ধর্মশিক্ষার প্রতিষ্ঠান লালবাগ মাদ্রাসা এই প্রক্রিয়াতেই তার এককালীন কেন্দ্রীয় ও গ্রহণযোগ্য ভাবমূর্তি আর ধরে রাখতে সক্ষম হয়নি। আবার, মাদ্রাসার বাইরের বাস্তব দুনিয়া যতদূর এগিয়েছে তাতে মাদ্রাসাকেন্দ্রিক শিক্ষাব্যবস্থার বাইরের যে কোন ব্যক্তির কাছেই আধুনিক রাষ্ট্র, শিক্ষাব্যবস্থা ও নারী-পুরুষ সম্পর্ক বিষয়ক মাওলানা শফীর অধিকাংশ মতই অবাস্তব ও অগ্রহণযোগ্য মনে হবে, কিন্তু যে দৃঢ়তা ও অনমনীয়তার সাথে তিনি তার এই অনেকটাই ‘অরাজনৈতিক’ এবং ‘সনাতনী ঐতিহ্যপন্থী’ ভূমিকা এতদিন বজায় রেখেছিলেন, সেটা তার বিপক্ষেরও সমীহ জোগাবে।

ধর্মীয়শিক্ষায় শিক্ষিত জনগোষ্ঠী সম্পর্কে মধ্যবিত্তের সাধারণ ঔদাসীন্য থেকে তাদের প্রায় সকলকে একাকার করে দেখা হয়ে থাকে অনেক সময়েই। কিন্তু বাংলাদেশ গত কয়েক দশক ধরেই ধর্মীয় সংস্কৃতিতে কয়েকটি বিবাদমান পক্ষের আন্তঃলড়াই খুবই গূরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করেছে জনসাধারণের একটা বড় অংশের জীবনে। এদের মাঝেও সবচে মরিয়া লড়াই ছিলো জামায়াতে ইসলামী বনাম বাকি সব ধর্মীয় গোষ্ঠী। জামায়াতে ইসলামীর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা মাওলানা মওদুদী মুসলমানদের দুর্দশার একটা বড় কারণ হিসেবে সাধারণভাবে মাদ্রাসা শিক্ষিত জনগোষ্ঠীর রাজনীতি বিমুখতা, অনাধুনিকতা, ধর্ম ও রাজনীতিকে আলাদা করে দেখার চেষ্টাকে দায়ী করেছেন তার বেশ কিছু লেখায়, প্রকারান্তরে তাদের মূর্খই বলেছেন।

অপরদিকে প্রথম থেকেই মওদুদীর আধুনিকতাপন্থী মতাদর্শকে ভয়াবহতম ‘ফেরকা’ হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করে সনাতনপন্থী ধর্মীয় শিক্ষিত জনগোষ্ঠীও তাকে প্রতিহত করার প্রাণপণ চেষ্টায় লিপ্ত হন। শামসুল হক ফরিদপুরী, ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার প্রয়াত বড় হজুরসহ আরও অজস্র গণ্যমান্য আলিম তাদের জীবনের একটি বড় দায়িত্ব হিসেবে জামায়াত বিরোধিতাকে গ্রহণ করেন। এতকিছুর পরও, বিপুল সংখ্যাধিক্য সত্ত্বেও, সনাতনীদেরই ধীর কিন্তু সুনিশ্চিত পরাজয়ই কিংবা পিছু হটাই সম্ভবত ঘটতে থাকে; প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক ও প্রতিনিধিত্বের জায়গাতে ইসলামী আন্দোলনের প্রধান নেতৃত্বের জায়গাটি জামায়াতে ইসলামীই দখল করে ফেলে। মাওলানা শফীও সম্ভবত জামায়াতের রাজনীতির সাথে সনাতনী ধর্মীয় অংশের চূড়ান্ততম আপোষেরই একটা নিদর্শন হয়ে থাকলেন তার অন্তিম জীবনে।

অথচ মাওলানা শফীকে বিবেচনা করা হতো কওমী মাদ্রাসারও মাঝে সবচে সনাতনপন্থী আলেম হিসেবে। আলেমরা ব্যাংকসহ নানান সেক্টরে থাকলে কি ঘটতে পারতো এমন একটি প্রশ্নের জবাবে বছর আটেক আগে মাওলানা শফী বলেছিলেন, "সুদবিহীন কোন ব্যাংক আছে কি? বাংলাদেশে এমন কোন ব্যাংক দেখাতে পারবেন? ইসলামী ব্যাংক, আল-আরাফাহ ব্যাংক এগুলো ইসলামের নামে জনগণকে ধোঁকা দিচ্ছে! এখানে সুদ নিচ্ছে কি না? কারণ তাদেরও সেন্ট্রাল ব্যাংকের সাথে যোগাযোগ রাখতে হয়।” খেয়াল করবেন পাঠক, মাওলানা শফী এখানে কিন্তু শুধু ইসলামী ব্যাংকের বিরোধিতা করছেন না, যে কোন ধরনের ব্যাংকিংই তার কাছে ইসলাম বিরোধী। কিন্তু ইসলামী ব্যাংক এখানে বিশেষ হয়ে উঠেছে এই কারণে যে সেটি জনগণকে ধোঁকা দিচ্ছে ইসলামের নামে। যেহেতু এই ধর্মীয় জগতের সাথে আধুনিকতার মিলন আর সম্ভব না, আবার বলপ্রয়োগে এই ব্যবস্থার অবসানও আপাতদৃষ্টে সম্ভব না—সনাতনী ধর্মীয় প্রজ্ঞা বরং অধিকাংশ ক্ষেত্রে রাজনীতি থেকে নিজেকে আপন কোনে গুটিয়ে নিয়ে তার আপন ধর্ম পালন করে; ওদিকে মাওলনা মওদুদী সনাতনীদের এই ‘রাজনৈতিক নিষ্ক্রিয়তার’ই নিন্দা করেন। আধুনিকতাকে অনিবার্য ধরে নিয়েই সেখানে ধর্মকে ব্যবহার করে কতখানি ক্ষমতার চর্চা করা যায়, এক কথায় বলা যায় তাই জামায়াতে ইসলামীর লক্ষ্য। জামায়াতে ইসলামী তাই মতাদর্শিক দিক দিয়ে মাত্রায় ফ্যাসিস্ট হয়ে ওঠার ক্ষমতা রাখে; সনাতনী মাদ্রাসাকেন্দ্রিক রাজনৈতিক দলগুলো আজকের বাংলাদেশ বা পাকিস্তানের মত দেশে বড়জোর বুর্জোয়া দলগুলোর বিটিম হিসেবেই কার্যক্ষম। আরও ভেঙে বললে বলা যায়, আওয়ামী লীগ-বিএনপির মতো মধ্যবিত্ত সমাজকে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করার মতো প্রধান দল হবার ক্ষমতা মতাদর্শিক সীমাবদ্ধতার কারণেই জামায়াতের কখনো হবে না, কিন্তু মধ্যবিত্তের ছোট একটা অংশকে সে তার বলয়ে রাখতে সক্ষম সে। অন্যদিকে তুলনামূলকভাবে বিস্তৃততর দরিদ্র জনগোষ্ঠীকে বশীভূত রাখতে সক্ষম হলেও তাদের রাজনৈতিক প্রতিনিধি হওয়াও যেমন কওমী মাদ্রাসাকেন্দ্রিক দলগুলোর পক্ষে সম্ভব হয়নি, মধ্যবিত্তের মাঝে তাদের রাজনৈতিক প্রভাব আরও কম।

মাওলানা মওদুদীর আরও অভিযোগ ছিল সনাতনীরা ইহকাল থেকে কার্যত অবসর নিয়ে নেয়। তারও সাক্ষ্য মাওলানা শফীর ওই সাক্ষাতকারেই পাওয়া যাব; ইসলামী জ্ঞান-বিজ্ঞান এবং আধ্যাত্মিক চর্চার প্রাণকেন্দ্র কওমী মাদ্রাসা থেকে কেন আর আগের মত আধ্যাত্মিক ব্যক্তি বেরিয়ে আসছেন না, এমন প্রশ্নের উত্তরে মাওলানা শফী বলেন: "এটাই হবে। কিয়ামত অনিবার্য। কেয়ামতের আগে ইসলাম উঠে যাবে, দীন উঠে যাবে, সব কিছু উঠে যাবে। এটা আস্তে আস্তে হতে হবে। যদি দিন দিন আমরা আরও ভাল হই তাহলে কেয়ামত তো আর আসবে না।”

কেয়ামতের জন্য এই যে প্রতীক্ষা, সেটা জামায়াতে ইসলামীর দর্শনে বেশ অগুরুত্বপূর্ণ। কিন্তু আধ্যাত্মিক এবং চিরায়ত ধর্মীয় প্রজ্ঞায় তা অনিবার্য, আসন্ন। সেইটাই চিন্তার ধরনে এবং অভ্যাসে একটা বড় পার্থক্যরেখা হিসেবে কাজ করেছে, ইহকালীন শিক্ষাবিমুখ ধর্মীয় শিক্ষা পরকালের প্রস্তুতিটাকে বড় করে দেখেছে; ইহকাল রক্ষা করে পরকালের প্রস্তুতি আর সম্ভব বলে তারা মনে করেনি। মাওলানা শফী তাই এমনকি বাকি কওমী মাদ্রাসার মত সরকারী সার্টিফিকেটও নিতে চান না, মনে করেন এগুলো শিক্ষার্থীদের ইহকালের প্রতি ঝোঁক বাড়িয়ে দেবে।

সনাতনী বানাম আধুনিক প্রাথমিক মতাদর্শিক সংঘর্ষের পর জামায়াতে ইসলামী কওমী মাদ্রাসার বিরুদ্ধে তাদের প্রচারণা একতরফা বন্ধ করে দেয়। তারা বরং চেষ্টা করে সামগ্রিকভাবে সমাজে নিজেদেরকে ইসলামী আদর্শের ঢাল হিসেবে তুলে ধরার; জামায়াতের তুলনায় বাকিদের যেহেতু প্রচারণা শক্তি কম, ফলে নিজেদের ভেতর এই বিরোধের বিষয়টা মোটা দাগে সকলেই অবহিত থাকলেও তা ক্রমশ চাপা পড়ে যেতে থাকে। এরই পাশাপাশি জামায়াত চেষ্টা করে সরাসরি যতজন পারা যায় সনাতনী শিক্ষিত ধর্মীয় প্রচারকদের, ওয়াজকারীদের ‘ক্রয়’ করে ফেলবার, দেলাওয়ার হোসেন সাঈদী তারই একটি ‘জনপ্রিয়’ নিদর্শন। এরও বাইরে আর্থিক সাহায্য, প্রচারযন্ত্রের সাহায্য, চিকিৎসা সাহায্য, কর্মসংস্থান প্রভৃতির মাধ্যমে জামায়াতে ইসলামী অজস্র সংখ্যক ধর্মীয় শিক্ষায় শিক্ষিত এবং বাস্তব জীবন সংগ্রামে পর্যুদস্ত মানুষের কৃতজ্ঞতা ও নির্ভরশীলতার কেন্দ্রে পরিণত হবার চেষ্টায় তৎপর থাকে। বাকিদের তুলনায় সংগঠিত এবং মধ্যবিত্তের ওপর অধিকতর প্রভাবশালী হবার কারণে সেদিক থেকেও তারা বাকি প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বীদের সমীহ আদায় করে। মাদ্রাসাকেন্দ্রিক বাকি রাজনৈতিক দলগুলো যেখানে আর সব বড় দলের পরজীবী বা বড়জোর সহযোগী ভূমিকাই পালন করতে পারে, সেখানে নব্বই পরবর্তী ভোটের রাজনীতিতে আওয়ামী লীগ ও বিএনপি উভয় দলকেই নিজেদের শর্তে ব্যবহার করার সক্ষমতা দেখিয়ে জামায়াতই শেষ পর্যন্ত ধর্মীয় রাজনীতির প্রতিনিধিত্বমূলক স্থানটি দখল করে। ফলে আকীদা এবং আরও সব বিষয়ে প্রবল অস্বস্তি ও বিরোধিতা থাকলেও বাকিরা তার শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব ও প্রভূত্ব মেনে নিয়েছে মোটা দাগে। ইসলামী ব্যাংকের বিরুদ্ধে ধর্মকে ব্যবহার করে ধোঁকাবাজির অভিযোগ করলেও, মওদুদীবাদীদের পেছনে নামাজ আদায় নাজায়েজ ফতোয়া দিয়েও মাওলানা শাহ্ আহমদ শফী তার লং মার্চটি তো শেষপর্যন্ত জামায়াতে ইসলামীকে রক্ষার জন্যই করলেন। মধ্যবিত্ত সমাজের মাঝে ক্রমক্ষয়িষ্ণু প্রভাবের ফলে বোধগম্য কারণেই জামায়াতের নেতৃত্ব তার সন্তানদের মাদ্রাসায় না পাঠালেও এরপর থেকে কৌশলগত কারণেই মাদ্রাসা জগতকে নিয়ন্ত্রণে আরও মনোযোগী হবে, সেটা বোঝাই যাচ্ছে।

খ. ফতোয়ার সঠিক/বেঠিক
ফতোয়া বা ধর্মীয় রায় এবং রাষ্ট্র ক্ষমতার সম্পর্ক একটা কৌতুহলোদ্দীপক বিষয়। কখন কখন কোন কোন ফতোয়া মানা হয়, কখন কখন মানা হয় না, সেই আলোচনা মনে হয় না খুব বিস্তারিত হয়েছে। ইতিহাস পাঠের সূত্রে কিছু উদাহরণ দিতে পারি, কিন্তু রাষ্ট্র্রের সাথে ধর্মীয় চিন্তার সংঘর্ষের এই রকম অজস্র ঘটনা ঘটেছে, সেগুলোর সংকলন আইন কিংবা ইতিহাস কিংবা সমাজবিজ্ঞান—উচ্চতর মানববিদ্যা চর্চার কোন মহল থেকেই করা হয়েছে বলে মনে হয়নি।

যেমন বৃটিশ শাসিত ভারতবর্ষ দারুল হরব (যুদ্ধের ঘর/শত্রুঅধিকৃত) না কি দারুল ইসলাম, সেই বিষয়ে অনেক পরস্পরবিরোধী ফতোয়া আছে, শাহ্ ওয়ালীউল্লাহর শিষ্যদের বড় অংশ মনে করতেন এটা দারুল হরব, এখান থেকে হিজরত করে তাই তারা চলে যেতে মুসলমানদের উদ্বুদ্ধ করেছিলেন, নিজেরা জিহাদ করেছিলেন বৃটিশদের সাথে। বিপরীত দিকে, বৃটিশরাও সংগ্রহ করে কাবা শরীফের হানাফি, শাফায়ী ও মালিকি মতাদর্শের তিন প্রধান ইমামের ফতোয়া; সেখানে বলা আছে ধর্ম পালন যতক্ষণ করা যাবে, ততক্ষণ হিন্দুস্তানকে দারুল হরব বলার উপায় নেই, সেটা দারুল ইসলামই। ফতোয়ায়ে আলমগীরির উদ্ধৃতি দিয়ে লক্ষৌ-এর আলেমরাও বৃটিশ শাসনকে বৈধ বলে ফতোয়া দেন।

পরস্পরবিরোধী ফতোয়াগুলোর উভয় পক্ষের ধর্মীয় ব্যক্তিত্বগণই কিন্তু সাধারণভাবে ধর্মীয় সমাজে শ্রদ্ধেয় এবং মান্যগণ্য। এক্ষেত্রে যারা ফতোয়া দিচ্ছেন, তাদের ধর্মীয় জ্ঞান শুধু না (কেননা অনেক ক্ষেত্রেই তারা প্রায় একই শিক্ষাকাঠামোতে একই প্রতিষ্ঠানের শিক্ষার্থী), বরং পার্থক্য করে দিচ্ছে বৃটিশ রাজ সম্পর্কে তাদের ভালো-মন্দ কিংবা ক্ষমতার অনিবার্যতার উপলদ্ধি। ‘মন্দ’ জ্ঞানে প্রথমদিকে একটা বড় অংশের আলেম বৃটিশদের উচ্ছেদ করতে জিহাদ করাটা কর্তব্য জ্ঞান করছেন, বৃটিশকে ‘মন্দের ভালো’ জ্ঞানে অপর অংশ জিহাদ করাটাকে ক্ষতিকর ফতোয়া দিচ্ছেন। জিহাদী আলেমরাও কিন্তু শেষ পর্যন্ত তাদের অবস্থান পাল্টাতে বাধ্যই হন। বৃটিশের শক্তি সম্পর্কে প্রত্যক্ষজ্ঞান তার শাসনের আপাতত অনিবার্যতার যে উপলদ্ধি সমাজে তৈরি করেছে, সেটা পুরনো কায়দার জিহাদ সম্পর্কেও একটা নতুন বোধেরও জন্ম দিচ্ছে, অধিকাংশ আলেম বরং এই নতুন সময়ে সশস্ত্র জিহাদের রাস্তা বাদ দিয়ে রাজনৈতিক সংগ্রামেই লিপ্ত হচ্ছেন। এই রাজনৈতিক সংগ্রামে লিপ্ত হতে গিয়েই আবারও তারা বিভক্ত হচ্ছেন বৃটিশ বিরোধী ‘অসম্প্রদায়িক জাতীয়তাবাদী’ চেতনায় কিংবা হিন্দু মধ্যবিত্তের সাথে প্রতিযোগিতায় ‘সাম্প্রদায়িক ইসলামী উম্মা’র বোধে ।

সম্ভাব্য সকল পক্ষেই অজস্র ধর্মীয় ফতোয়া পাওয়া যাবে। মাওলানা উবায়দুল্লাহ সিন্ধীর মতো অসাধারণ বুৎপত্তিসম্পন্ন মানুষ থেকে শুরু করে আল্লামা হুসায়ন আহমদ মাদানী পর্যন্ত অসাম্প্রদায়িক চেতনার বিরাট ধারা যেমন ছিলো, ছিলেন মাওলানা ভাসানীর মত বিপ্লবী লাল মাওলানা থেকে শুরু করে আব্দুর রশীদ তর্কবাগীশের মত অসাম্প্রদায়িক মানুষেরা; অন্যদিকে মাওলানা আশরাফ আহমেদ থানভী থেকে শুরু করে মাওলানা আকরম খাঁ পর্যন্ত ‘সাম্প্রদায়িক’ রাজনীতির একটি ধারাও বরাবরই ক্রিয়াশীল ছিলো। আল্লামা হুসায়ন মাদানী হলেন সেই ব্যক্তি যার দোহাই দিয়ে আজকে মাওলানা ফরিদ উদ্দীন মাসউদ শফী সাহেবের প্রতি আবেদন জানিয়েছেন জামায়াতকে সহযোগিতা না করার জন্য, প্রশ্ন করেছেন তার খলিফা ও শিষ্য হয়ে কিভাবে মাওলানা শফী জামায়াতের পক্ষে ভূমিকা রাখছেন?

অবস্থাদৃষ্টে মনে হয় ভারতের ধর্মীয় ব্যক্তিত্বদের মাঝে অসাম্প্রদায়িক অংশ শুরুতে খুবই শক্তিশালী থাকলেও রাজনীতি যত দ্রুত হিন্দু-মুসলমান ইহাজাগতিক স্বার্থ ও প্রতিযোগিতা সংশ্লিষ্ট হয়ে পড়ে, তত দ্রুতই বেশ বড় একটা অংশের ধর্মীয় নেতাও রাজনীতির সাম্প্রদায়িকীকরণে যুক্ত হন। খুব দ্রুতই মৌলবাদী রাজনীতি তার আরাধ্য মুসলিম জনগোষ্ঠীর সাম্প্রদায়িক স্বার্থের ডাকেও সাড়া দিতে বাধ্য হয়, হিন্দু ও মুসলমান উভয়পক্ষেই যে দ্রুত হারে সাম্প্রদায়িক রাজনীতির বিকাশ ঘটছিলো; তুলনামূলক কম সংখ্যক ধর্মীয় ব্যক্তিত্বই তাতে অংশ না নিয়ে নিজেদের অসাম্প্রদায়িক ধর্মীয় চেহারা ধরে রাখতে সক্ষম হন। যদিও সংখ্যার বিচারে তারা খুব নগণ্য নন, চারিত্রিক ও শিক্ষাগত দিক দিয়েও তারা খুবই উল্লেখযোগ্য ছিলেন।

কিন্তু অসাম্প্রদায়িকতার বাইরেও নিজেদের জনগোষ্ঠীর স্বার্থসংশ্লিষ্ট ফতোয়াগুলোরও ঐতিহাসিক পর্যালোচনা খুব জরুরি। ক্রমশ অগ্রসর আধুনিকতার সাথে আলেম সমাজকে সর্বদাই একটা প্রতিকূল যুদ্ধে লিপ্ত হতে হয়েছে, এবং প্রতিবারই আলেম সমাজকেই পিছু হটতে হয়েছে। একদা বৃটিশ শাসনের বিরুদ্ধে জিহাদকারী আলেমদের বড় অংশকেই দেখা যাবে নিজেরা কিংবা পরবর্তী প্রজন্মে বৃটিশের ক্ষমতার অনিবার্যতা মেনে নিয়েছেন; সামাজিক প্রশ্নগুলোতেও তেমনি প্রায়ই দ্বন্দ্ব অনিবার্য হয়ে উঠলে আলেম সমাজকেই দ্বন্দ্বে পিছু হটতে হয়েছে। এখানে সর্বদাই নির্ধারক প্রশ্ন ছিলো ফতোয়া সঠিক কি বেঠিক, সেটি নয়, ফতোয়াটি রাষ্ট্র গ্রহণ করছে কি করছে না।

১৯৩০ সালের পয়লা এপ্রিল থেকে কার্যকর হওয়া ১৮ বছরের বালক ও ১৪ বছরের বালিকাদের বিয়ে নিষিদ্ধ করার আইন সম্পর্কে জমিয়ত-এ- উলামায়-এ- বাংলার তীব্র বিরোধিতা ও রদ করার ঘোষণা দেখতে পাচ্ছি, কেননা "ঐ আইনটি ছিল শরীয়ত বিরুদ্ধ। কারণ শরীয়তে নাবালেগ-নাবালেগা ছেলেমেয়ের বিবাহ বৈধ”; এবং কেননা (শর্ষিনার পীর সাহেব মওলানা নেসারুদ্দীন আহমেদের সভাপতিত্বে ফুরফুরার দরবারে অনুষ্ঠিত জমিয়ত-এ-উলামা-এ বাংলার ৫ম বার্ষিক অধিবেশনের ঘোষণানুযায়ী) " এই অন্যায় ও অবৈধ আইন প্রচারের ফলে দেশে যদি অশান্তি ও উচ্ছৃংখলতা উপস্থিত হয়, তজ্জ্ন্য কেবল গভর্নমেন্টই দায়ী হইবেন। মোসলমান সমাজ এই এসলাম-বিদ্বেষী আইন মানিয়া লইতে কখনই প্রস্তু নহেন।”

আলেম সমাজের শীর্ষতম ব্যক্তিগণ তখন যুবক সম্প্রদায়ের চরিত্র বিষয়ে মারাত্মক উব্দিগ্ন হয়ে আন্দোলন শুরু করলেও রাষ্ট্র যেহেতু তাকে গুরুত্ব দেয়নি, তার আন্দোলনে অচিরেই ভাটার টান আসে। ক্রমে সমাজ তার সুফল ভোগ করে এতটাই অভ্যস্ত হয়ে ওঠে যে এই বয়সসীমা পরে আরও বৃদ্ধি করা হলেও কেউই তাতে খুব আপত্তি করার সাহস দেখাননি।

কিন্তু মোটা দাগে এই পশ্চাতপন্থী ভূমিকা দিয়েই আলেম সমাজ কিংবা ফতোয়াকে বিবেচনা করা যাবে না। যে জনগণের সাথে ওতোপ্রোতোভাবে তারা যুক্ত ছিলেন, তাদের সংগ্রামে বহু ইতিবাচক ভূমিকাও তারা রেখেছেন। ‘লিভারপুলের লবণ হারাম’ শীর্ষক বহুল প্রচারিত ফতোয়াটি দেশীয় লবণ শিল্প ধ্বংসের বৃটিশ নীতিরই পাল্টা রাজনৈতিক হুঙ্কার। স্মরণ রাখা উচিত যে ফতোয়াটিতে ধর্মীয় বিচারের চাইতে উপনিবেশিকতা বিরোধী চেতনাই অধিকতর স্পষ্ট। স্বদেশী আন্দোলনের যুগে অসহোযোগ আন্দোলনে তাদের অংশগ্রহণ খুবই অগ্রগণ্য ছিলো, বিলেতি পণ্য বর্জনের ডাকে তারা জোরেশোরেই সম্পৃক্ত ছিলেন। এই প্রশ্নটিতে আহলে হাদীস সম্প্রদায় আবার বৃটিশ শাসনের পক্ষালম্বী ছিলো; সংখ্যালঘু, অনগ্রসর এবং অবহেলার শিকার হলেও নতুনভাবে আত্মসচেতন হয়ে ওঠা আহলে হাদীস সম্প্রদায় বৃটিশ শাসনের রক্ষাবর্মকে যথাসম্ভব ব্যবহার করতে চাইতো বলে বৃটিশ পণ্য বর্জনের ডাকটি যে শরিয়তসম্মত নয়, সেটি বরারবরই স্মরণ করিয়ে দিতো। ফলে আবারো দেখতে পাচ্ছি, আন্দোলন সংগ্রামে মানুষ ফতোয়ার ধর্মগ্রাহ্যতা সন্ধান করে না, সন্ধান করে তার পক্ষে কি বিপক্ষে তা যাচ্ছে কি না, তার সাংস্কৃতিক অর্জনকে তা ধারণ করছে কি না।

পারিবারিক জীবনে শরিয়তের বিধানের বদলে রাষ্ট্রের আইন চাপিয়ে দিয়ে নজির স্থাপন করেছিলেন সামরিক শাসক আইয়ুব খান। মুসলিম পুরুষেরা ইতিপূর্বে শরিয়তি বিধান অনুযায়ী বহুবিবাহ এবং তালাকের ক্ষেত্রে যে সুবিধাসমূহ ভোগ করতেন, তাতে একটা ছেদ আনা হয় ১৯৬১ সালে পারিবারিক আইনে; পুত্রের অবর্তমানে পিতামহের সম্পত্তিতে নাতিদের বঞ্চিত হবার শরিয়তী আইনও তিনি বদলে ফেলেন। সারা পাকিস্তান জুড়ে আইয়ুব খানের বিরুদ্ধে আলেম সমাজের অধিকাংশ ক্ষুদ্ধ হয়ে তাকে কাফের ফতোয়া দেন। এটা কৌতুহলজনক যে আজকে এই আইনী সংস্কারটি বাংলাদেশের মুসলিম পারিবারিক আইনের এতই অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ হয়ে গিয়েছে যে কোন ধর্মীয় দলই এর বিরুদ্ধে দাঁড়িয়ে মুসলিম পুরুষের বাধাহীন একাধিক বিয়ে কিংবা একতরফা তালাকের অধিকার পুনঃপ্রতিষ্ঠার জন্য সংগ্রাম করছে না, সেটা কল্পনায় আনা আর আত্মহত্যা প্রায় সমান হবে তাদের জন্য। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কাছে শফী সাহেবের দফাগুলোতেও তাই রাষ্ট্রীয় আইনে মুসলমান পুরুষের হারিয়ে ফেলা শরিয়তসম্মত অধিকারগুলো পুনরায় অর্জনের দাবি জানানো হয়নি।

একাত্তরের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধে কোন কোন আলেম যেমন হানাদারদের হামলাকে জালেম হিসেবে অভিহিত করেছিলেন, আবার তাদের পক্ষেও গিয়েছেন অনেকে। এটা খুবই মুশকিলের যে, এই বিষয়ে অধ্যয়ন যথাযথ না হওয়ায়, ধর্মীয় শিক্ষায় শিক্ষিত জনগোষ্ঠী গবেষণার আধুনিক প্রকরণের সাথে পরিচিত না হওয়ায়—উল্টোদিকে জাতির সামাজিক-রাজনৈতিক ইতিহাসে ধর্মীয় শিক্ষার মিথোষ্ক্রিয়া বিষয়ে শিক্ষিত জনগোষ্ঠীর সাধারণ কৌতূহলের অভাবের কারণে এই বিষয়ে খুব ভালো পর্যালোচনা তো দূরের কথা, দ্বন্দ্ব-সংঘাত-ঐক্যের পরিসরগুলোর সাধারণ তথ্য সংকলনের কাজটিও হয়নি।

কিন্তু তারপরও সাহস করে একটা মোটা দাগের পর্যালোচনা হাজির করা যাক: কোন একটি নির্দিষ্ট ঘটনাকে ধর্মীয়ভাবে বিচার করতে গেলে ধর্মীয় প্রশিক্ষণে অভ্যস্ত একজন জ্ঞানী ব্যক্তি সৎভাবেই কি রায় প্রদান করবেন, তা ব্যাখ্যাকারের শিক্ষা/শ্রেণী/অবস্থানসহ আরও বহু বিষয় দ্বারা নির্ধারিত হয়, রাষ্ট্রও একটি নির্দিষ্ট ফতোয়া গ্রহণ করবে কি করবে না, সেটিও নির্ভর করে সরকার/প্রভাবশালী সংস্থাসমূহ/জনগণের আগ্রহ প্রভৃতির ভিত্তিতে। সে কারণেই ইসলামী ব্যাংক বিষয়ে মাওলানা আহমদ শফীর বক্তব্যকে রাষ্ট্র গূরুত্ব না দিলেও মত প্রকাশের স্বাধীনতা বিষয়ে তার বক্তব্যই গূরুত্বপূর্ণ হয়ে উঠছে। নারীর খোলামেলা উপস্থাপন বিষয়ক তাদের বক্তব্য রাষ্ট্রের কাছে শেষপর্যন্ত কখনোই গ্রহণযোগ্য হবে না, কারণ তা বাণিজ্যের পরিপন্থী। কিন্তু নারীনীতির বাস্তবায়ন-বিমুখ সরকার তাদেরকে বিনা দ্বিধায় মাঠে নামাবে এবং সেটাকে অজুহাত হিসেবে দাঁড় করিয়ে এই বাস্তবায়ন ঠেকিয়ে দেবে।

নারীনীতির আর কোন অগ্রগতিতে আপাতত অনিচ্ছুক সরকার কওমী মাদ্রাসাকে যতই ব্যবহার করুক, গার্মেন্ট নারীদের বিরুদ্ধে, বেলেল্লাপনার বিরোধিতার নামে কার্যত বাণিজ্য বিরোধিতার বিরুদ্ধে তাদের ফতোয়াকে কখনোই গুরুত্ব দেবে না, অতএব তার কোন কার্যকারিতাও কোনকালেই থাকবে না। মধ্যবিত্ত, নিশ্চিন্ত থাকুন, আফগানিস্তান কি সীমান্ত প্রদেশে পরিণত হতে যাচ্ছে না বাংলাদেশ; বরং লীগ-দলের সীমানা ডিঙিয়ে রাজনীতির দাবি তুলে আনার কারণে বুর্জোয়ারা তাদের রিজার্ভ আর্মিকে একটুখানি প্রদর্শন করে যাচ্ছে হেফাজতের মধ্য দিয়ে। বড়জোর তা সরকার বদলের বাহন হতে পারে, উৎপাদন ব্যবস্থার জন্য হানিকর কোন কিছু সেখানে ঘটবে না। সেখানে তাদের লাগাম ঠিকঠাক বাধা আছে।

বাংলাদেশে প্রতিক্রিয়াশীল কায়দায় ধর্মের রাজনৈতিক ব্যবহারের প্রশ্নে বিএনপি এবং আওয়ামী লীগের ভূমিকা বরাবরই একটা ঐতিহাসিক ধারাবাহিকতা বজায় রেখেছে। প্রথম দলটি এই প্রশ্নে প্রতিক্রিয়াশীলতাকে প্রত্যক্ষভাবে ব্যবহার করে, দ্বিতীয় দলটি পরোক্ষভাবে। জিয়াউর রহমান বাংলাদেশে ধর্মীয় রাজনীতির আনুষ্ঠানিক জন্মের সাথে সম্পর্কিত। কিন্তু ধর্মীয় রাজনীতির আরও বেশি কৃতজ্ঞ হওয়া উচিত শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের প্রতিও, বহু লড়াইয়ের সাথিদের দাবি উপেক্ষা করে সকল শিশুর জন্য অভিন্ন, বিজ্ঞানভিত্তিক শিক্ষাব্যবস্থা প্রতিষ্ঠা থেকে তিনি বিরত থাকেন। পাকিস্তান আমলের তুলনায় স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশে মাদ্রাসার সংখ্যাও বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে বেশি । যে মাত্রায় রক্তপাত ও সংগ্রামের মধ্য দিয়ে বাংলাদেশের জন্ম এবং যে চেতনার বিকাশ সে ঘটিয়েছিলো, তারচে বহু কমমাত্রার রক্তক্ষয় করে বহুদেশে এরচে প্রগতিশীলতর আমূল পরিবর্তন শাসকেরা ঘটিয়ে দিয়েছিলো, সেটা বাংলাদেশে তারা পারেনি। এরই ধারাবাহিকতায় সামরিক শাসক জিয়াউর রহমান লালবাগ মাদ্রাসার প্রধান হাফেজ্জী হুজুরকে রাজনীতিতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করার মধ্য দিয়ে বাংলাদেশে ধর্মীয় রাজনীতিকে সামনে নিয়ে আসেন। তখনই টের পাওয়া যায়, সংগঠিত জনশক্তি হিসেবে কওমী মাদ্রাসার ক্ষমতা বিশাল। আজকে বুর্জোয়া রাজনীতির সকল পক্ষই মাঠে শক্তি দেখাতে হিসেব কষেন, কার পক্ষে কয়টা মাদ্রাসা আছে, কতজন প্রভাবশালী আলেম-ওলামার বিবৃতি তারা জোগাড় করতে পারছেন; যদিও তারা কদাচ নিজেদের সন্তানদের মাদ্রাসার ছায়ায়ও আনেন না।

জিয়া এবং এরশাদ সাম্প্রদায়িক রাজনীতিকেও ধুরন্ধর কায়দায় ব্যবহার করেছেন। কিন্তু সাম্প্রদায়িক রাজনীতিরও তাই একই রকম কৃতজ্ঞতা জানানো উচিত রাষ্ট্রের জন্মকালীন শাসকদের প্রতি। ‘বাংলার হিন্দু বৌদ্ধ খৃস্টান মুসলমান—আমরা সবাই বাঙালি’ শ্লোগান মুক্তিযুদ্ধে উঠেছিল বটে, কিন্তু ঘটনাক্রমে বাংলাদেশে সাম্প্রদায়িক রাজনীতির প্রধানতম ভিত্তি পাকিস্তান আমলে প্রণীত অর্পিত সম্পত্তি আইন (কি এক অজ্ঞাত কারণে!) বাতিল হয়নি। এই আইনের সুযোগ নিয়ে অজস্র মানুষকে ভিটেবাড়ি ছাড়া করা হয়েছিলো পাকিস্তান আমলে, বাংলাদেশে তার ধারাই অব্যাহত থাকে জন্মের পরদিন থেকেই। ইলিয়াসের খোঁয়ারি গল্পটিতে যেমন মুক্তিযুদ্ধ পরবর্তীকালের অজস্র হিন্দু পরিবারের অসহায়ত্ব ফুটে উঠেছে, ২০১৩ সালে আজকের তরুণও তো দেখতে পেলো কত অনায়াসে রাজনীতির মোড় ঘুরিয়ে দেয়ার কায়দা হিসেবে ধর্মীয় সংখ্যালঘুদের ওপর হামলা চালানো যায়।

কিন্তু সে যাই হোক, চিকিৎসক, শিক্ষক, শিক্ষার্থী কিংবা আর যে কোন পেশাজীবী অংশের সমর্থনের সাথে মাদ্রাসার জনগোষ্ঠীর সমর্থনের একটা বিশাল পার্থক্য আছে। আর সবখানে ব্যক্তিরা যেমন ব্যক্তিগতভাবে সিদ্ধান্ত নেন, এই ক্ষেত্রে ঠিক তা ঘটে না। বরং প্রতিষ্ঠানের খরচ যিনি জোগাড় করেন, যিনি অর্থের উৎস, তার উপরই নির্ভর করে ‘কোন পক্ষে যাবে তুমি’। দেওবন্দ মাদ্রাসার প্রতিষ্ঠাতারা সর্বদা চাইতেন তাদের প্রতিষ্ঠান যেন ধনীদের কাছ থেকে অর্থ সাহায্য না নেয়, কেননা তাতে কায়েমী স্বার্থের অধীনস্ত হয়ে যাবেন তারা। আজকে (দেওবন্দসহ) আমাদের ধর্মীয় শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো দেশীয় ধনী ব্যক্তিদের তো বটেই, আন্তর্জাতিক নানান মহলেরও অর্থানুকূল্যের অধীনস্ত হয়ে পড়েছে। সকলের জন্য একমুখী শিক্ষার বন্দোবস্তের যে সুযোগ সৃষ্টি করেছিলো মুক্তিযুদ্ধ, তার বাস্তবায়ন না করে আজকে আমাদেরই শিশুদের অভাবী অংশটাকে ভাতের জন্য, পোষাকের জন্য, আশ্রয়ের জন্য নির্ভরশীল করে তুলেছি অজ্ঞাত অর্থের উৎসের ওপর। তাহলে শিক্ষার গুণে এদের মাঝে জন্ম নেয়া রাজনীতির চেতনাকেও অস্বীকার করবেন কী করে? আজকে তো যারা মাঠে কাজ করেন, যারা কারখানায় কাজ করেন, প্রায় কারও জড়ো হবার অধিকার নেই, সমবেত হবার অধিকার নেই। কিন্তু কত অনায়াসে শাসকেরা তাদের প্রয়োজনে মাদ্রাসাকেন্দ্রিক শিশু-কিশোরদের জমায়েত করেন নিজেদের স্বার্থ হাসিল করতে। এই জমায়েত তারা দিনের পর দিন একটা সঙ্গত কারণে করতে পারেন না; গার্মেন্ট শ্রমিক/ছাত্র/আর সব পেশাজীবী দিনের পর দিন লড়াই করেন সেখানে তাদের জীবিকা ও ইহকালীন স্বার্থ জড়িত বলে। ধর্ম যদি কোন জীবিকার লড়াইয়ের মুখপাত্র না হয় (যেটা আগেকার দিনে প্রায়ই ঘটতো), সেখানে বড়জোর একদিন দুই দিন কিংবা এক সপ্তার অর্থখরচ করা জমায়েত ঘটানো যেতে পারে, দিনের পর দিনের উপস্থিতি সেখানে সম্ভব না। শাহবাগের স্বতঃস্ফূর্ততার সাথে তাদের জমায়েতের এই পাথ্যর্কের দিকটি খুবই মৌলিক। তবে এদেরকে ব্যবহার করতে করতেই একসময় শুধু ব্যবহৃত হওয়া নয়, নিজেদের প্রয়োজনে বাকিদের জিম্মী করার সক্ষমতাও লোকবলের দিক দিয়ে তারা কখনো কখনো অর্জন করে ফেলেছে, বাংলাদেশের রাজনীতির এটাও এখন একটি অকাট বাস্তবতা।

ঘ. শাহবাগের চেতনা
শাহবাগ জনতার সেই চেতনা, যে-চেতনা অনুমান করেছিলো জামায়াতের সাথে আওয়ামী লীগের কোন আঁতাত তৈরি হয়েছে। ট্রাইবুন্যাল-রূপী প্রহসনের নাটকে জনগণের দাবীর যে অপমান ঘটেছে শাহাবাগ তারই বহিঃপ্রকাশ। শাহবাগ আওয়ামী লীগ সৃষ্টি করেনি, কিন্তু শাহবাগে আওয়ামী লীগ একটা নেতৃত্বকে চাপিয়ে দিয়েছিলো। কিন্তু আওয়ামী লীগের প্রতি বাকিদেরও সন্দ্বিগ্ধতার কারণে এরাও আবার একক নেতৃত্ব হতে পারেনি, কিছুটা হলেও যৌথ নেতৃত্বের বিকাশ ঘটেছিলো। বাকিরা যেহেতু সংগঠিত ছিলো না, তাই চাপিয়ে দেয়া নেতৃত্বের অগণতান্ত্রিকতা আর অস্বচ্ছতাও যথাসময়ে দৃশ্যমান হয়ে উঠেছে। নীতিনির্ধারণী সভায় গৃহীত সিদ্ধান্তও বদলে ফেলার মত গুরুতর ঘটনা শাহবাগে ঘটেছে। আবার, নেতৃত্বের যে কোন আপোষের ইঙ্গিত পাওয়া মাত্র সাধারণ জনতা ও কর্মীরা যেভাবে প্রতিক্রিয়া ব্যক্ত করেছেন, তাও নেতৃত্বের ভূমিকাকে বহুভাবে প্রভাবিত করেছে।

শাহবাগ যাদের বিরুদ্ধে ঘটেছিলো, সেই জামায়াত শুরু থেকেই চেষ্টা করছিলো যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচারের দাবিতে সংগঠিত এই আন্দোলনকে নাস্তিক-আস্তিক লড়াইয়ের রূপ দিতে। তাদের প্রাথমিক চেষ্টা কিছুটা সাফল্য পেয়েছিলো। তাদের আরও একটা চেষ্টা ছিলো সারা দেশে সাম্প্রদায়িক দাঙ্গা বাধিয়ে মানুষের নজর ফিরিয়ে দিতে। সেই চেষ্টায় হিন্দু সম্প্রদায় মারাত্মকভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হলেও উদ্দেশ্য খুব সফল হয়নি। কিন্তু শাহবাগকে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত করতে সক্ষম হয়েছে লীগ এবং দল–উভয়ের ভূমিকা; বিএনপির ভূমিকাটা প্রত্যক্ষ এবং ঘোর শত্রুর। কিন্তু আওয়ামী লীগের ভূমিকাটা পরোক্ষ হলেও কার্যত সরকারে থেকে সে এই সব কিছুকে বাস্তবায়িতও হতে দিয়েছে। বিএনপি ঘৃণ্য সাম্প্রদায়িক হামলা আর মৌলবাদী উস্কানির কার্যকলাপে লিপ্ত হয়েছে আর আওয়ামী লীগ এখন মূল ইস্যুকে যথাসম্ভব আড়াল করে কখনো ব্লগার/ইসলামের অবমাননার ইস্যুতে আত্মসমর্পণ থেকে শুরু করে জামায়াত নিষিদ্ধের প্রশ্নে যথাসম্ভব সুবিধাবাদী অবস্থান গ্রহণ করেছে। তাদের এক মন্ত্রী লতিফ সিদ্দিকী ঘোষণা করেছেন হেফাজত লীগেরই সৃষ্টি, প্রকাশ্যেই দেখা যাচ্ছে তাদের প্রভাবশালী কয়েকজন নেতা হেফাজতের সাথে ঘনিষ্ঠ যোগাযোগ রাখছেন, আবার অন্য কয়েকজন সেটাকে প্রতিহতের ঘোষণা দিয়েছেন। বিএনপি অন্যদিকে শুরু থেকেই হেফাজতকে কাছাখোলা সমর্থন দিয়ে গিয়েছে।

আওয়ামী লীগ ধোঁয়াশা ছুপা রুস্তমের রাজনীতি করছে, সে গাছেরটা খেতে চায়, তলেরটাও কুড়িয়ে নেয়ার তালে আছে। বিএনপি তলারটাকে পায়ে মাড়িয়ে নষ্ট করে গাছেরটা খেতে চায়। লীগ একদিকে তাই শাহবাগকে ঘুরিয়ে দিয়েছে হেফাজতের দিকে; দলও সম্পূর্ণ তাই চায়, আস্তিক-নাস্তিকের সংঘাতে তার বড় লাভ। অন্যদিকে লীগ হেফাজতকেও বেশ খানিকটা নিজের হেফাজতে নিতে চায়, প্রমাণ করতে উদগ্রিব নিজেই সত্যিকারের ইসলাম-পসন্দ। সত্যি বলতে কি, ব্লগারদের বিরুদ্ধে সাম্প্রতিকতম মামলাটি সংবিধানের সাম্প্রদায়িক পঞ্চদশ সংশোধনীরই প্রথম আইনী বাস্তবায়নের উদ্যোগ।

অন্য আর একটি সহযোগী পক্ষ, কার্যত এরাও বিএনপিরই পক্ষভুক্ত, দেখাতে চাইছেন হেফাজতের সদস্যরা সব গরিব মানুষ। কিন্তু গরিব মানুষেরা কিভাবে ব্যবহৃত হতে পারেন নিজেদের স্বার্থেরই বিরুদ্ধে– মাদ্রাসাকেন্দ্রিক ক্ষমতার বলয় কিভাবে কার্যকর থাকে, সেটা যারা বোঝেন, তাদের কাছে অজ্ঞাত থাকার কথা নয়। ভিন্ন আরও একটি সহযোগী পক্ষও আছেন, যারা সচেতন কিংবা অসচেতনভাবে আওয়ামী রাজনীতির তলেরটা খাওয়ার কর্মসূচির সহযোগিতা করছেন শাহবাগকে ধর্মীয় শক্তিগুলোর দিকে ঘুরিয়ে দিয়ে। মাওলানা শফির ‘রাজনৈতিক’ শক্তি অনেকটাই কৃত্রিম, তাকে তৈরি করা হয়েছে, ফুলিয়ে ফাঁপিয়ে বড়ও করা হয়েছে, অন্যদিকে সাধারণ খেটে খাওয়া মানুষের মাঝে তাদের একটা বাস্তব ‘অরাজনৈতিক’ ধর্মীয় প্রভাব আছে। এই অরাজনৈতিক প্রভাবটির জন্ম হতে পেরেছে, কারণ ৪২ বছর ধরে শাসকেরা কোটি কোটি শিশুর জন্য শিক্ষার ব্যবস্থা করেননি, এরা প্রত্যেকেই এই মওদুদ বাহিনীর রাজনৈতিক সুফলভোগী। লাগাতার আক্রান্ত হলে এই অরাজনৈতিক প্রভাব দ্রুতই রাজনৈতিক হয়ে উঠে শাহবাগকে নাস্তিক-আস্তিক লড়াইয়ের কুঠুরিতেই বিভক্ত করতে আরও সহায়তা করবে, জামায়াতে ইসলামীর লক্ষ্যও এই মূহুর্তে তাই। হেফাজতে ইসলামের প্রচারিত দাবিগুলোই বরং আলোচনায় নিয়ে এসে সেগুলোর অন্তঃসারশূন্যতা এবং অকার্যকারিতা দেখিয়ে দেয়ার প্রচারমূলক কৌশলই হতে পারে বর্তমান সময়ে যথাযথ উদ্যোগ। জামায়াত অন্যদের আড়ালে আশ্রয় নেয়ার যে কৌশল গ্রহণ করেছে, তাকে সেই কৌশলে ধারাবাহিক সহায়তা করাটা আত্মঘাতী হতে পারে । এর আগেও জামায়াত বায়তুল মোকাররম মসজিদকে কেন্দ্র করে একই ধরনের কায়দায় মাঠে নেমেছিলো, সেটা ব্যর্থ হয়েছে। এবার তুলনামূলক একটা সাফল্য জামায়াত পেয়ে গিয়েছে। শাহবাগের মঞ্চ-নেতৃত্ব আর শাহবাগের চেতনা দুইয়ের মাঝে কখনো কখনো যে গড়মিল দেখা যায়, তার কারণ এইভাবে কখনো কখনো শাসকদের প্রয়োজনে ব্যবহৃত হওয়া। আস্তিকতা-নাস্তিকতার বিভাজনের জাল সরিয়ে যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচার ও জামায়াত শিবির নিষিদ্ধ করাই এই মূহুর্তে সবচে জরুরি কাজ।

ঙ. বাংলাব্লগ
অদ্ভুত একটি কাজ করেছে বাংলা ব্লগকূল এই রকম একটি জরুরি পরিস্থিতিতে। একদিকে সরকার বাংলাব্লগ কর্তৃপক্ষসমূহকে বাধ্য করার চেষ্টা করছে ব্লগারদের যাবতীয় তথ্য প্রদানে। পাশাপাশি বেশ কয়েকজন ব্লগারকে তারা গ্রেফতার করেছে, রিমান্ডে নিয়েছে। এটা মতপ্রকাশের স্বাধীনতার ওপর ভয়ঙ্করতম হামলা। কোন কোন ব্লগ আত্মসমর্পণ করেছে সরকারের হুকুমের কাছে, এটা সন্দেহাতীত ভাবেই উদ্বেগজনক। শোনা যাচ্ছে তারা শুধু নির্দেশনা মানেননি, ব্লগারদের ব্যক্তিগত তথ্যও নাকি তারা তুলে দিয়েছেন কর্তৃপক্ষের কাছে (এটার সত্যতা আমরা এখনো জানি না, কিন্তু ব্লগকর্তৃপক্ষের ব্যাখ্যাও আমরা পাইনি)। তাদের বরং উচিত ছিলো বিটিআরসির চিঠির প্রতিবাদে আদালতে যাওয়া, এই চিঠি সংবিধানের পরিপন্থী কি না, সে বিষয়ে নির্দেশনা চাওয়া। সেটা তারা এখন্ও কেউই করেননি।

ব্লগের আরেকটি অংশ সরকারী এই নির্দেশ এবং গ্রেফতারের জবাব দিয়েছেন ব্লাক আউট কর্মসূচির মধ্য দিয়ে! মতপ্রকাশটিই কার্যত বন্ধ করে দিয়ে এমন একটি প্রতিবাদের রাস্তায় তারা গেলেন যা সরকারেরই মস্তো ফায়দা করে দিলো। জামায়াতের বিরুদ্ধে চলমান প্রতিরোধ আন্দোলনে ব্লগের একটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা ছিলো, হেফাজতে ইসলামীর বিভিন্ন দিক নিয়ে ব্লগে আলোচনা করাটা জরুরি ছিলো, জরুরি ছিলো পরিস্থিতি মোকাবেলায় আওয়ামী লীগের উভমুখী তৎপরতা, অন্ধকারের শক্তিগুলোকে উস্কে দেয়ার ক্ষেত্রে বিএনপির ভূমিকা আলোচনায় আনা। সেই সব কিছুই আড়ালে চলে গেলো কোন কোন ব্লগ কর্তৃপক্ষের সরকারের সুবিধা করে দেয়ার মনোবৃত্তির কারণে; বাকিরা হয়তো না বুঝেই সেই খেলার সাথী হলেন। সাইবার জগতে তাই জনমত গঠন ও পরিবহনে ফেসবুকই ভরসা হয়ে থাকলো আপাতত।
